New Run in England Scheme comes to Ilkley

Residents of Ilkley, West Yorkshire will soon have no excuse for not pulling on their trainers and getting fit as new running groups for beginners and those returning to running are starting up at The Old Bridge, Denton Road, Ilkley, LS29 0AA from Tuesday 27^th July 2010.

It’s all part of the new ‘Run in England’ scheme which is aimed at newcomers, or anyone who hasn’t put their tracksuit and trainers on for many years. This is definitely not for more experienced runners, but gives everyone the chance to take some regular exercise without feeling as if they’ve been left behind.

The groups are for anyone aged 18 and over whatever their gender, size or ability, and a fully trained and insured group leader will make sure that you’re well looked after and have loads of fun. Groups will run from The Old Bridge at 10.00 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and at 6.30 pm on Wednesdays.

Membership of Run in England costs £20.00, this is a one-off payment not an annual fee and all members will receive a beginners training log book, a t-shirt and a water bottle and will be covered by public liability insurance whilst taking part in group sessions. The session fee is just £2.00 making this an affordable way of improving your fitness and hopefully making new friends in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
