The Ilkley Community Fund. A Local Charity for local needs.

The Ilkley Community Fund was established in 1994 and has as its aims and objectives the promotion and support of all worthwhile projects which are solely for the benefit of the community of Ilkley and its surrounding district.

The Ilkley Community Fund receives its income from trusts and legacies as well as from private donations. It does not receive any funding from any national sources or Bradford Metropolitan Council and relies on the local community for its income.

Cash grants are awarded to local groups which benefit the community and which do not qualify for any form of national funding. Groups which have benefitted are elderly peoples' groups, disabled groups, speech/stroke clubs, arthritis help groups, Air Training Corps, Scout and Guide groups, Crime Prevention and Neighbourhood Watch etc.

Grants are awarded on the understanding that any publicity arising from projects supported can be used in the furtherance of the work of the Trustees. This is to ensure that grants are used responsibly, thereby establishing a pattern of distribution which the Trustees aim to maintain.

The Trustees of the Fund are a group of local businessmen, all of whom are experienced in the charity field and who give their time and knowledge to benefit the local community. The fund incurs no administration costs apart from costs of stationery, postage etc. and welcomes donations, legacies and contributions through gift-aid.

Officers of the Fund are:

Geoffrey R. Vere. Chairman.

Heather Chapman Secretary

John Wainwright Treasurer
